Honestly, Biden could just order the Pentagon this afternoon to release any and all pertinent information that the Army is withholding on the incident in its entirety. The only possible reason for NOT being forthright are details that may well prove embarrassing to ANC officialdom concerning the original request regarding tRump's appearance, and what was allowed and not allowed during his presence. This is beginning to smell like a typical CYA bureaucratic tactic: sit on a report until demands to release eventually go away.
The fact that tangeranus isn't behind by 20 points after the first "debate" and 40 points today proves that these so-called debates are worthless. In fact I would go so far to say they are professional circle-jerks that only exist so the impotent corporate media can feel relevant.
Actually, there's literally only a relative handful of voters remaining to whom this debate MAY be dispositive as to vote preference. The vast multitude tuning in have long ago taken sides, and no change expected.
Presidential "debates" can only be assessed as just part of a cumulative process that (1), defines a candidate, and (2) persuades enough voters to win an election. Yes, tRump got whooped, but by the weekend he's out on his rallies, ranting and raving, and the polls show a dead heat.
On one hand, yeah, there’s a lot of voters committed to Trump (or more specifically maybe the promise of tax cuts no matter how minor). OTOH, there’s a lot of people who don’t bother to vote and that group tends to be Dems and Dem-leaning. Kamala, meanwhile, seems to be less of a lesser of two evils candidate than usual—which likely would be a help. Time will tell.
As for Swifty, IMO she was pushed to make an endorsement because of Team Trump’s fake in which she endorsed him. But whether I have that correct, yeah, credit to her and her team for timing.
And speaking of credit, credit to ABC News for unusual competence.
While I am not an expert on drug abuse, I did notice that trump's eyes were dilated to where he was squinting in the bright lights and looking down! It's public knowledge of his Adderall and I wonder if anyone else noticed?
The other thing about the climate change question was trump's response. Nary a concept in sight.
"That didn't happen under Donald Trump. Let me just tell you, they lost 10,000 manufacturing jobs this last month. It's going -- they're all leaving. They're building big auto plants in Mexico. In many cases owned by China. They're building these massive plants, and they think they're going to sell their cars into the United States because of these people. What they have given to China is unbelievable. But we're not going to let that. We'll put tariffs on those cars so they can't come into our country. Because they will kill the United Auto Workers and any auto worker, whether it's in Detroit or South Carolina or any other place. What they've done to business and manufacturing in this country is horrible. We have nothing because they refuse -- you know, Biden doesn't go after people because supposedly China paid him millions of dollars. He's afraid to do it. Between him and his son. They get all this money from Ukraine. They get all this money from all of these different countries. And then you wonder why is he so loyal to this one, that one Ukraine, China? Why is he? Why did he get 3 1/2 million dollars from the mayor of Moscow's wife? Why did he get -- why did she pay him 3 1/2 million dollars? This is a crooked administration, and they're selling our country down the tubes."
The usual question emerging from presidential debates is how long do impressions last...if a candidate truly bombs and embarrasses him-/herself, it's forever, in Joe Biden's case. But last night...my sense is that it will fade away in a few days when the next news cycle obtrudes and displaces one public occurrence for yet another. These "debates" usually have a short half-life after the punditocracy, corporate media, and the campaigns themselves work over unceasingly the "what it all means" takes, and we all move on.
Sure, some few minutes can be distilled down and enjoy a second life in TV ads, but beyond that impressions are fleeting, as this debate will prove.
I watched the debate and
was proud of Harris. She
didn't let Trump steamroll her
and she blew him up! About
time someone took him to
task.
Y'know, the Army doesn't like
to be pulled into "political
fights". There's also a lone
female they're probably
trying to protect in this mess.
If they release the requested
info, how long does anyone
think it would be, before her
name is in bold headlines on
corporate news/msm? What
do you think the result of that
would be on X/Twitter, Truth
Social? It's over and so well
done it's charred.
Not sure why it was necessary to drag Joe Biden back up on a debate stage, just to kick him in the nuts. He's no longer the candidate.
2 completely different "debate" events. No comparison whatsoever, other than the word "debate".
And even THAT word is debatable.

Not a good look for the administration.
I hate it that comity is so important to Biden that he won't use the power we all fought so hard to give him.

Dogs and cats, eaten together. (Apologies Harold Ramis).
