Romney’s quote shifts responsibility from himself and fellow republicans to those that elected them. Hardly worth noting except for hypocrisy, the Vaseline of politics.
How in the world is this woman allowed to speak as tRump's counsel...or even to practice, for god's sake? It's a telling indictment of "the defendant's" brand toxicity that the overwhelmed Habba is lead attorney, when all other law firms ran for cover when tRump was trawling for representation. I mean, when you've lost Joe Tacopina....oy vey!
"Creating a false reality to trick voters is central to undermining democracy, and it is no secret that autocratic states like Russia, Iran, and China are spreading disinformation in the U.S. But I have always wondered what would happen when the American people finally pushed back against suggestions and innuendo and instead demanded actual evidence and policies designed to address problems, as they did before American politics turned into entertainment."
This from Dr. Heather Cox Richardson Letters, perhaps it will help Senator Romney understand.
Life is easy for Trump. Just show up in court (when you don't need to be there), create a scene, get publicity. It doesn't matter if he has good lawyers or not - it's all about maintaining constant free publicity (good or bad, we know it doesn't matter) and running out the clock until he's elected and can pardon himself and all his cronies.
Most of the media has still not learned how to cover him; some, such as ABC, are better than others but mostly it's the lemmings chasing every word and action with no context or consideration for newsworthiness.
Yes, thank you for posting the link to SCOTUS (!) and for the twitter images.
Thank you for posting link to SCOTUS yesterday. Ladies….listen up to Gen Elizabeth Prolegar torch Gorsuch in the Supreme Court case on behalf of Commerce. It is a master class on not being mansplained.
It would appear Trump's strategy is to present such a clown show in court as to get the Judge/Gov't to slip up and create grounds for appeal. It's all he's got.
Thank you for a moment of levity reading the dialogue between Judge Kaplan and Alina Habba. Thank God for one judge who isn’t cowed by the orange carbuncle. Alina Habba’s law school should refund her money.
Yesterday was quite a day. Let's see what Ms. Habba has in store for us today. I
love it that Judge Kaplan's
keeping order in his court, while conducting a first year
law school court decorum class to defense counsel.
Thanks David. Great Memo today.

She’s just a trophy lawyer
tRump gets his daily cleavage shot, and that's apparently all that the unfortunate Habba brings to the defense.

Habba: You were a regular at Elaine's, right?
Carroll: Yes.
Habba: It's hard to get into, isn't it?
Carroll: No, not hard.
Judge Kaplan: It doesn't exist anymore. That's why it's hard to get into
Pure. Comedy. Gold!

Thanks, those TXitter comments made my morning!
Judging from the tweets (Xit’s?), the complete thread likely teaches one everything one needs to know to be a trial attorney.
I don't understand this blind fealty to $CROTUS.
But none looked better taking that drubbing and subsequently being tossed over bored by her client Herr Drumpf!! 😲

Those exchanges between Habba and the judge make it seem like she doesn't have a lot of actual trial experience.
