This phenomenon has been nothing short of a mass surrender of one's moral code to that of a gangster, an authoritarian narcissist who not only revels in but is also strengthened by such mindless idolatry.
Mussolini immediately comes to mind, and can only fervently hope that the latter's fate is shared by tRump, metaphorically or otherwise.
