Karl Rove clip is definitely worth watching. And cheering for. And using as support for our democracy. We have allowed ourselves to be polarized into seeing the other as demonic--good for Karl Rove! Thank you for including it in your newsletter.
Glad to see the NYT taking some positions and headlines that include the word "lies." We need more of that to combat the relentless onslaught of misinformation.
*Judge* Cannon and the MAL docs case: death by a thousand cuts for the prosecutors' case. A seemingly brief relenting but then keeping the door open for tRump to eventually walk through unscathed. She all but invited SC Smith to take her to the 11th CA, and if he doesn't, she plans to continue the case in her own sui generis fashion, Smith be damned.
OK, boyo, act now or forever hold your peace, as Cannon wants tRump acquitted by any means necessary, full stop.
Spreading falsehoods is an unacceptable, chickenshit dodging of responsibility. Spreading falsehoods is lying. If a news organization can’t state the obvious, it’s not just shitty journalism, it’s harmful — as polls that go there are showing.
As for Cannon’s decision, I’m not sure she didn’t gift Team Smith an appeal the 11th circuit can’t refuse reversing.
But:
I’m so on record as not wanting a single one of the cases going to trial I know I’m boring me; and
I’m not sure that Cannon shouldn’t have refused the case when assigned based on her prior involvement with the FBI’s subpoena of MAL. That said, the reluctance for Smith to seek recusal unfortunately makes sense. She maybe has now pushed into a corner. Time will tell…
Good Christ, Karl Rove in the "pro-democracy" camp?? The guy promoting then overseeing the Shrub administration? That Karl Rove?....mirabile dictu!
Thanks David for an
interesting round up of the
latest nefarious schemes.
For some reason, I'm still
seeing the 11th circuit in
Cannon's future in my crystal
ball.
Have a great weekend.
