The tRump lovefest at the Capitol was beyond parody...standing o's?...pushing and shoving to get as close as possible to the Orange Felon?...this adulation would have exceeded even the Second Coming of Himself already.
Hate to be Mr Bummer — really, it’s starting to bother me and I’m talking my ingrained nature — especially on a Friday but we’re the establishment news media interested in honest framing and reporting (which they aren’t*) at every relevant point, they’d be referencing J6 and all other ways the GOP’s an existential threat to the nation. The super short version of that: electoral, partisan performative stuff like efforts to negate the power of the vote are relatively unimportant in the greater scheme of things. IYKYK; I’m not going to details all the ways they harm (or in the case of Covid literally kill) the majority of the nation. With — again — support from the media.
(*To think these failings are from some sort of incompetence requires believing reporters, editors and producers tend to be pretty stupid and intrinsically incompetent.)
But what do I know. I found today’s post too triggering to even do more than parse the headlines. Indirectly, that’s a compliment to David on doing his job well.

Have you met any of them? Like Tara "I got this at the Washington party I got to go to and you didn't" Palmieri? Or the NYT executive editor who thinks "democracy" is just another issue, like "inflation"?
They are the over-educated, under-intelligent, otherwise-unemployable trust fund babies of the DC Press Corpse. The guys at the NYT who told the truth back in the 60s would throw DNA failure A.G. Sulzberger out his office window if they came back. And the WaPo sure isn't the place run by Ben Bradlee that hired Woodward and Bernstein.
I have seen with mine own eyes that they’re far from as stupid as they appear as a rule. That said, Nick Kristof I’ve seen in non-professional mode so to speak and, yes, he’s pretty dumb. His rep was made from his stint in the PRC; suffice to say his wife did a shit ton of work that made it possible. Apparently Norah O’Donnell is more or less as stupid as she and her show appear to be.
But as a rule just because their product seems as if it’s written or produced in a manner that makes it seem they’re fucking stupid, I don’t believe, again as a rule, that they don’t know better. Ambition and hoped-for success requires them to crank out awful reporting.
And yet, how much does it matter? The owners want BS reported and those who wish to stay employed do not disappoint their employers.
I've never been able to figure out why trans people are not biologically what they are. If a child is born with an inherited disease or tendency to fatal disease, is it "unbiological" to treat them because their genes say they should sicken or die?

A party bereft of shame and conscience.
Absolutely unbeatable take by Adam "Shifty" Schiff on tRump's meetup with GOPers:
"It's Bring a felon to work Day"!
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

I tend to take the Occam's Razor track, reporters, editors and producers really are stupid and intrinsically incompetent.
If you want simple, here: they’re just producing the lies the owners pay them to much.

This is a perfect analogy. Thank you.
How infuriating! Thank you for the reporting. This is maddening. What keeps me going though is that I know that Roevember is coming on Nov 5.
Yes, how disturbing and disgusting.
