I can say a few words about Ken Buck. He is very conservative, continuously opposes common sense gun legislation, and follows all the true conservative rules; but I’ve noticed that he has a modicum of decency in certain circumstances. He is showing it here by insisting that Republicans acknowledge that the election was not stolen. He also wrote an editorial in the Washington Post about the bogus impeachment inquiry into President Biden. I’m familiar with his district, although I don’t live in it, and it is deeply conservative. He is taking a chance of possibly losing his seat over this. I believe he will be challenged in the primary elections. But he is definitely enjoying his media moment.
Regarding the 200 members "voting for" Jordan. I wonder if some may have voted for him reluctantly, perhaps not fearing for their jobs, but for their lives, or for those of their families. They may not have wanted to appear on some "hit list" on Truth Social by Gag Man.
I have been dumbstruck by the rebranding of Ken Buck as a moderate voice of reason as well. Though I do take note of commenter Janet CO-West Slope's observations as someone who is closer to Buck's district. Maybe he's ready to go out, and this is his Moment of Zen before he's primaried?
