Great post. I'm not sure I understand how being told by an ex-president not to respond to a subpoena is a defense if the ex-president is telling a porky--at the time of the statement trump wasn't covered by executive privilege. Was he not required to at least CHECK with a lawyer?
But even if it applied to what the J6 committee wanted that WAS covered by the privilege, wasn't the time to assert that AT the subpoenaed hearing? Where has the idea come from that you just don't have to show up if you are likely to be asked things that are covered by some privilege.
