Long time reader/subscriber, first time commenting. Your friend's obituary completely rocked me. The first two paragraphs may well be my new life philosophy. Impossible to live up to the standard he set, but a worthy goal. May his memory be a blessing.

I very much enjoyed the stories about Paul (Pableaux)Johnson. What a guy but so young. I will keep him in my heart.

I am sorry for your loss of a dear friend. To steal a line from Driving Miss Daisy, he was one of the lucky ones.

Given the unconventional spelling for your friend’s 1st name, I assume it was his red beans & rice recipe in the NYT I cooked a week ago.

Delicious!

Sounds like he was quite a guy. Sorry for your loss.

I hope that the various DOJ and FBI employees will refuse to resign and will force him/them to fire them. Several reasons for this, but at least in California (and I assume it is true elsewhere), if you resign you are not entitled to unemployment benefits. Plus, it is harder to bring a lawsuit, since a resignation carries a presumption that it was voluntary.

NOT GOOD!!! to coin a phrase.

Anyway…

“Their lack of knowledge was not evidence of their perfidy but of their irrelevance. The Justice Department and the FBI will be controlled by the Trump White House, and whoever is installed in leadership positions will be figureheads acting on orders from above. This not normal.”

Pretty much what I’ve been saying since Trump designated his first cabinet-level distraction for the establishment media and what must be called the ignorant masses.

It’s got to be a sad day when an old fart who’d been around the block too many knows what’s going on and how the world works better than the more prominent officials. (To be clear, I am *not* referring to TPM, something of a niche superstar.)

Well, "clown show" or otherwise, this man and his hirelings are dangerous to an extreme, especially as tRump has cast himself in the mold of the "Sun King", Louis XIV, of France, and the latter's attributed aphorism, "L'Ètat, C'est Moi". Which is exactly the path this "clown show" is taking, and hardly a laughing matter, IMHO.
