Trump being trump, keeping a negative story about himself alive. Idiot.

Love your headlines, as usual. "Okaaay..." Classic - thanks!

I'd like to think that everyone here knows by now that if the establishment news media gives the Trump the benefit--treating every statement of his and from his team as true-til-proven-otherwise--it's by choice. Honest journalism would require framing like "Trump claims" or even "Trump lies". They know better; they don't care; and only the nation and the world are harmed as a result.

So how Team Trump spins the Arlington disgrace--and is allowed to by both the aforesaid media as well as the Army. (Full disclosure: as a late boomer, our awesome military has never been exactly a cynosure of great respect. Still.)

That said, I want to give Trump a crumb or two of credit for showing that a lot of norms and even laws are bullshit. They work as long as they're enforced. And when the enforcers don't care to do their job--say the US Army refusing to commit to back their personnel at Arlington--we get this embarrassment and disgrace.

Not that those who need to are learning the right lesson. I dunno. People sign up to be willing to die for the nation yet are chickenshit in the face of harassment from the sick fucks of the GOP...

I am so sick of immature bad actors such as Trump claiming innocence, that my lying eyes are what is the problem - not their bad behavior. What is wrong w people that they choose not to see this?

Sounds like typical Trump drivel: "I HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE OF THIS WOMAN, I DON'T KNOW WHO SHE IS, AND SHE'S A LIAR."

I think that hanging the Arlington official twisting in the wind is a mistake on the Army’s part. How will the rules be enforced? I think the Army is afraid of Trump because he is a criminal thug. The way Trump has taken over the justice system is criminal in itself. Trump is going to lose by a lot and get MAGA to contest the election.

Its annoying that the media keeps zeroing in on her. We have evidence of wrongdoing in Trump's account playing Arlington video. There is no need to harass an individual.

A couple things. DOJ not ANC staff or the House of Lord - er, senate, should be prosecuting the investigation. I'm not surprised the Army wants it to go away since the Army is probably 95% MAGAT. And B) Clearly there are no limits on what $CROTUS judges can rule, or any judge for that matter. They do what they want when they want and regardless of what all the legal eagles around here believe there's no institution that is willing to stop them.

I think you are being unfair to the Army. They are in a tough place and trying desperately hard to stay out of the politics. Plus they are trying to respect the wishes of the woman who was assaulted. Any documents will certainly have her name on them and you can rest assured should the senate actually get them, that means some MAGA republican will see them and arrange for her to be doxed. As for the courts in our system the only institution that can stop them is themselves.

You do understand that for Sheehy being tabbed as a racist is another endorsement to his likely voters, same with Trump supporters and his actions

Yes. His racism codes as "friendly" racist joking. This would be a nothingburger to racists, only evidence of oversensitivity by liberals.

Joe Biden could simply order Army Sec. Wormuth to get on with it, release ALL pertinent info relating to the ANC, and if there is a prosecutable offense, do what is necessary to right the wrong.

Surely this can't be the case that the Administration doesn't want to be seen as putting their thumb on the scale of Justice to avoid charges of "election interference"...or does it? Comey -"her emails"?

Do we really need the likes of

Sheehy in the senate?

Tuberville and several other

MAGATS aren't enough

already!? Keep the senate

blue by donating to Tester,

he needs the boost.

If I had a dollar for every time I saw the headline “Trump Outright Denies…”, I’d have enough money to run for president myself. The man raises shamelessness to a new level.

Lying is a very effective tool for him. Either he is believed or is given a pass. It has always worked for him so why change. We have to set a zero tolerance standard for him and stick to it.

But since most electronic and print media have lost all the moxie and mojo, the answer is lost to me.

If Katherine Graham had been so

wishy, washy Watergate, the Pentagon Papers and Nixon’s secret tapes might not have been a game changer.

I can understand the frustration of the Dems at "pushing Army officials to say more clearly what laws or regulations they think may have been broken and to reveal more details about what happened." I have read both the governing statutes and the associated CFRs. It IS a violation of the CFRs to use the cemetery--any part of it- for "partisan political activities." There is no mention in either, however, of section 60 or photography (outside of the definition of "media.") The violations of policy regarding either must therefore be somewhere else.

My analysis of the statutes/CFRs is at https://substack.com/@linehan/p-148283513

The other problem is that there is no indication of what the penalties are for using the cemetery for political purposes. Misdemeanor? Level of jaywalking, or higher?
