".....a walking shadow, a poor player, that struts and frets his hour upon the stage." (MacBeth, Act 5, Scene 5)

But so very apropos to Trump's pathetic performances, which are clearly designed to make him look strong--while being weak as used dishwater.

tRump is using his Covid playbook yet again re: H5N1 avian flu pandemic: "If you don't test, you don't have cases"...well, if Musk destroys the reporting agency - CDC, "you don't have cases".

One of my biggest fears about tRump 2.0 is a pandemic outbreak, and a rerun of the shambolic tRump responses...well, we may be on the cusp of just that.

His romp around the track in his armoured car at a NASCAR event illustrates sublimely tRump's presidency: a Debordian Spectacle.

It's so nice and reassuring to

see our Sec. of State, Vice

President. and has-been

Kellogg sell out Ukraine and

Europe to Russia, for the

world to view. The USA has

joined the low ranks of every

other sh#thole neofascist,

authoritarian state out there.

Gee TPM, there were lots of

protests, amounting to

thousands on the streets

across the country yesterday

for No Kings Day. Did you

miss that?

I would like to know why we have not heard from the three former presidents about the destruction of our country. A press conference would be great but even a statement from all 3 would be better than nothing.

Tricky Dick Nixon: “If the President does it, it’s not illegal”. Y’all do understand that if Watergate happened now, there’d be no presidential resignation. (Also the media wouldn’t see any wrongdoing to get excited over. To be clear, we see the media excited over the current shit pulling but little excitement that it’s of various levels of illegality. You know, the WTF??? level’s low. The framing’s off.)

You lost me at the first clause in the first sentence. Ukraine is not part of Russia.

"The land within the borders of modern Ukraine, a Texas-sized nation often called the “breadbasket of Europe,” has long been coveted by the region’s powers. During Antiquity, the Greeks, Romans and Huns, along with a slew of lesser-known empires, from the Scythians to the Sarmatians, each established a presence there at one point or another.

More recently, from the Middle Ages to the present, the Vikings, Mongols, Lithuanians, Poles, Russians, Ottomans, Swedes, French, Austrians, Germans, Romanians and Czechoslovakians have all marched in, with some staying far longer than others.

Never fully independent until the collapse of the Soviet Union, though there were periods of semi-autonomy, Ukraine has been divided up and stuck back together several times. (Fittingly, the name “Ukraine” means “on the edge” or “borderland,” and its national anthem declares, “Ukraine has not yet perished.”) Through it all, Ukrainian history and identity has been a highly contentious topic, particularly in the context of the 2022 Russian invasion.

Russian leader Vladimir Putin, for example, has stated that Ukrainians and Russians are “one people” and that Ukraine isn’t a real state, an echo of when earlier generations of Russians referred to Ukraine as “Little Russia.” Yet many Ukrainians vehemently disagree with these characterizations, pointing to their country’s distinct language, culture, traditions and shared civic principles."
