Surely it must be heartening, after so many months of banal "horse-race" coverage of the coming 2024 elections, that major media outlets are devoting time and space to actual reportage on the real substance and implications of a second tRump term. And better yet, the write-ups use tRump's own words in outlining the sort of quasi-fascistic State that will emerge after tRump is inaugurated in Jan. 2025.

Major props too to the Atlantic, where three years ago, Barton Gellman authored a piece describing how the 2020 election aftermath was but a dry run for a far more insidiously professional steal of the 2024 elections, with operatives more skilled in both contesting and sabotaging election results not favorable to tRump.

Has the tide finally turned? Are we getting at long last the proper press treatment of what a tRump second term would mean for an erstwhile democratic and constitutional order? One lives in eternal hope.

The Atlantic has been out in front of the dangers of another Trump presidency for

a long time. The NYTimes &

WaPo have a lot of catching up to do and some right wingers they need to ditch.

Sorry, Cheney is not another 3rd ticket the country needs.

And I'll say this part right out

loud. Mike Johnson was no

backbencher. He is moving

the Freedom Caucus agenda

right along and been in Florida raising money. Beware the man in sheeps

clothing!

A few lines in the article remind me of a 2009 bit in The Onion headlined “Police Slog Through 40,000 Insipid Party Pics To Find Cause Of Dorm Fire.”

The relevant passages from the Washington Post:

“But the Jan. 6 cases are unique in that scores of lawyers have already been given access to tens of thousands of hours of video, including of Epps and other supposed government plants.

“‘Between the hundreds of people who have looked through it, none of us have come up with the antifa provocateurs or the federal agent provocateurs that we keep hearing about,’ said Greg Hunter, who has represented more than a dozen Jan. 6 participants, including one acquitted at trial. ‘It’s because they’re not there. There are a lot of people looking, and nobody’s found it.’”

I think you have totally missed the point. Perhaps you should reconsider that decision not to take the remedial class in reading comprehension?
