I think you're pretty much hitting the sweet spot in your coverage of the Trump trials, trial dates, various judges. Not too weedy, but not superficial. Gotta keep an eye on the loose Cannon, who could seriously alter the outcome, let Trump skate. Steady as you go!
on trial coverage: I'm a retired lawyer and so I like the tiniest details. But I can see that many would be bored or confused at the kind of detail I like. Why don't you partner with one of the Substack legal posters, like Joyce Vance or Law Dork and simply link to them when something with a minute analysis comes up that they've covered. "News: trump's lawyers file yet another stupid request. See Civil Discourse for a full analysis of why it's stupid. "
What I am suggesting is how closely TPM needs to delve into the ins and outs of breaking news on a legal matter. If you haven't discovered Robert Hubbell, now is the time.
I like the coverage, enough to make it pretty clear but not too much to overwhelm. In other news, what kind of a moron at a law firm would allow the firm to give the likes of Bannon a $5000,000 line of credit? I want some a that!
As far as the trial(s) coverage goes I can't get enough. But there is so much going on that there is a real risk of turning into Empty Wheel (which I adore), and TPM is not fitted to dedicating so much continuing effort on that one front. Your capabilities at good executive summaries serves you well, so these and perhaps one or two detailed articles on the juiciest of the days stories would be best. IMHO.
I am assuming that folks not up to speed on the various trials & tribulation of DJT don't read your newsletter, therefore no need to do back history for us just salient new developements with how the preparations are going.
Can't get too much ab Dump's legal tribulations. Every effort to hold him accountable is game but Jan 6, the phony elector's scheme, and Georgia were direct assaults on free and fair democratic elections. Feel like the prosecution of the nazi militias, for another relevant instance, were under-reported. Needless to say, if this Jim Crow red-state putsch wins out the consequences will be dire for everyone around the world. Keep the spotlight on them.

Good idea, but I personally like keeping the presentation of news separate and thus follow TPM with Civil Discourse substack as
well as News from an American, Heather Cox Richardson

“Confused? Don’t worry.” Even this was helpful...love the links for deeper dives - what you are doing is working well for me. Thanks!!
You're doing a great job with your coverage of Trump's trials. Keep the good work.

This newsletter has become the first place in the AM where I look for the latest on Trump judicial proceedings. Thanks for the good work.
