I want to see Kamala Harris play that theme hard in tomorrow's "debate"...if the corporate media isn't highlighting tRump's super-frightening agenda should he win, it's totally incumbent upon Harris to call him out and put him right on the spot, allowing no BS or wiggle-room.
NYT coverage of the notorious WI rally was a few ticks better than the way those rallies are usually covered - a generous dose of - yes- sane-washing his rants - where here their reporter, Michael Gold, included a fair amount of verbatim nonsense and incoherent ramblings by tRump, without the usual "reinterpretation" and selecting one or two seemingly rational sentences upon which to build a report.
Massive online criticism having an effect? We'll see...no promises.
Uh, Education already is "in the states." What Dept of Education does is provide additional money, mostly. With strings, of course. Without that money the state's taxpayers would have to foot the bill totally. What Project 2025 wants is to the money still to be given, but with no strings. It could all be spent on school vouchers to private schools, including religious schools, with no oversight at all by the school boards who are "local government" at its most basic.
Preaching to the ignorant to be sure that their kids remain equally ignorant.
I'm a volunteer deputy registrar in several Texas counties. (We do not have online voter registration in Texas. "VDRs" are trained and certified by county to accept paper applications.) We offer voter registration events at campuses, community events, etc.
Three developments in the last few days:
Last week, two Texas public university systems issued statements saying that nonpartisan voter information/registration groups may NOT visit classrooms/offer registration in classrooms. Additionally Tarrant County (Ft. Worth) commissioners voted to NOT include college campuses as early voting centers. Thirdly, Paxton is suing two Texas counties to prohibit mailing mail-in registration applications to unregistered voters.
Ohio SoS Frank LaRat is coming up with any and all ways to discourage a free and fair election! From eliminating ballot drop boxes, voter rolls purges and writing into the Gerrymandering bill that over 700,000 people of Ohio signed to make it harder to read and understand if you read his butchered text! And of course, he had the blessing of the republican board that writes ballot language! I hope the good voters of Ohio see past this crap and vote YES!
The honest headline you’ll never see:
Trump promises opponents ‘long term prison sentences’

Good work Lance.

Well ... like "child care is child care" ... "education is education" but, nothing can replace emergency forensic psychotherapy intervention.
Sorry, I don't do Spotify. As someone who was in the music business, I never have, and I never will. Sorry.
Same. No spotify for me. I listen to local radio streaming. I like live DJs and a human connection.
Your choice Scott, of course. I pay zero & I am listening to a shuffle of Bruce Springsteen's still potent 'Nebraska'.

Paxton is a criminal. I don't know how he has been able to put off going to prison after all of these years. Wasn't he even convicted?
Paxton is the poster boy for the "Old Texanism" - "He *needed* killin'!"
Thank you for bringing this up! I also heard this on the radio last week.
I don't believe this election is close. Of course I believed that in 2016 and 2020 so maybe I'm not as smrt as I think I am.
I don't either. I just can't believe that almost half of the country would vote for Adolf Hitler if given the chance. Oh, wait...
GOP Talking Point: "I'd rather vote for Hitler than SATAN!!"
I have MAGA relatives that LITERALLY believe Kamala Harris is Satan.
I wonder who told them that??

Another honest headline we’ll never see:
Trump: Migrant deportation plan “will be bloody”
Needless to say, this would be a stunning headline coming from any other presidential candidate in history.
As would: Trump vows ‘long term prison sentences’ for opponents
At long last, have the @nytimes and @washingtonpost any sense of shame left?
A further reminder that Harry Truman was right back in 1948 when he observed that "The only 'good Republicans' are pushing up daisies."
"Skullduggery". Lol.
