It's one thing to quietly and surreptitiously defy the federal courts, however it's quite something else to publicly boast about it and taunt the judges who attempted to stop apparently lawless actions. Now that they feel that they've gotten away with it, you can bet that more acts of defiance are planned by the tRump crowd...after all, who is it that can either force compliance or order prompt cessation of failure-to-comply actions by the government?
After all, the position of "Go on, we dare you to make us conform to court orders!" is so radical a stance that the courts - up to and including SCOTUS - are soon to realize that in fact there IS NO enforcement mechanism to ensure adherence to judicial rulings when "the rule of law" is supplanted by authoritarian diktats...yet, here we are, staring into the abyss, with apparently no checks operating on flouting the law. Now what?
Imagine that: a mobster POTUS flouts and ignores the rule of law. Who could see this coming, specially after all the whining during his first administration about DOJ failing to cater to his whims (nobody ever says no to Donny) and the insane, unfit POS that were his last appointees during his first administration.
Of course, as to mocking the rule of law, the Roberts’ court beat Trump to it years ago.
Too, I’m so old that I recall when norms were declared dead months ago.
Well, this is all shameful and worse. I’m sure a couple of Democrats will have words to say before they submit to him again…

We already crossed the

you didn't see this
coming you were asleep.

Correct, Danka . Brown University is in Providence, Rhode Island.
Serious people need to quit repeating the nonsense phrase "illiberal democracy". Just say authoritarianism. That's what it is and we know it.
