IMO you should just call it Twitter. Elon wants you to use "X" -- but using "X" by itself only confuses. "Elon Musk's X" - as used today - is better, but it's both longer and much more confusing than just "Twitter." It takes much longer to process and as a reader I hate it!
I know you have standards and rules for how you like to refer to things ... but maybe the rule could include a subrule: "we will follow this rule when doing so isn't confusing our readers."
