In response to the Elon musk retweet of the inestimably offensive Rupert Lowe MP tweet, I live in the US, and there is a particular "dangerous third world savage" I would really like to see removed from our country: he broke immigration laws by working while on a student visa, he has poisoned our national discourse, interfered in our foreign policy, donated $250 million to a presidential election in an attempt to affect the outcome, performed a Nazi salute twice at the president's inauguration, among too many other offenses to even enumerate.
The analytic breakdown is compelling. Still wondering about human dynamics that seem to land 'outside' the categories. For ex., why did the career prosecutors - who knew better through experience and training - stay at that USA office and engage in the clearly illegal/improper behavior ? Many others resigned to avoid this fate and they, too, presumably had mortgages, etc.
The Trump Justice Department is everything wrong with the Justice Departments of the past, on steroids. Let’s not think that restoring is a good idea when overhauling is needed. Merrick Garland’s CYA twiddletwaddle wasn’t an accident.
Compelling prècis of the now-notorious "Broadview Six" disaster, bringing back memories of Chicago and the infamous "Chicago Seven" trial arising from the infamous 1968 Democratic Convention, when the then Mayor, Richard Daley, turned the CPD loose on antiwar protestors. Judge Julius Hoffman...remember him? Ultimately, the few convictions arising from the farcical trial were overturned on appeal, but the entirety of arrests, indictments, the trial, and the sentences were casebook government overreach, though not stemming from trump-era DOJ corruption. No, this was "the system" taking its revenge against those opposing government policies, and operating well within "the system" as it was purposefully designed to confront citizen opposition, full stop.
And today, even without the blatant misuses of prosecutory discretion that MM has catalogued, that same system still exists as it did in 1968-9; the machinery remains in place to railroad people into prison for practicing their First Amendment rights, let's be clear on that score.
“No, The Constitution Is Not Colorblind” -- 🎯Sherrilyn Ifill’s 🎯 “At worst, it is a cynical ploy 💥designed to erase the work💥 of activists, lawyers, and Congress who built a civil rights infrastructure to advance Black equality.” The highest court is deluded and politically motivated.
I read this column avidly every day. It’s well organized, well written, and perceptive. Thanks!!!

This is indeed the question.
YES. What it suggests about Americans or people in general is a worry.

I think your tripartite taxonomy is sound. I recommend you keep using it
