Thank you for all of this, and especially for the Syrian freed. Maybe we will all feel like that in a few years.

Thanks as always for keeping us updated with the MM, David. If you are interested there is a bit of a squabble in Mississippi between what are considered three future candidates for Governor in the next election. https://mississippitoday.org/2024/12/11/shad-white-lynn-fitch-delbert-hosemann-fight/

Of the three the only one I respect is Delbert Hoseman. The other two are trying to out-Trump one another. Of course, Fitch is the one that handled the Dobbs appeal and wrapped herself in that opinion so tightly she doesn't know where it begins and her skin ends.

I’m so disappointed and disgusted with the number of people who have chosen pandering over principles. Legislators who are afraid of musk money destroying their 2026 chances of reelection, and now Wray. What did he really have to lose???

Odds are Wray’s just anxious to get back in private practice and cash in on the riches he can get during the next Trump administration. Because that’s the kind of leaders we’ve allowed ourselves to.

As for Lake and VOA, I dunno, I can’t see a Republican-majority panel *not* giving Donny what he wants.

It's what trump does best...look for trump-suckers to leech out all the treasure and let all the criminals run the Nation into the ground!

Wray should have let Trump

fire him. Kari Lake as Voice of

America? Yikes! Tuberville

needs to leave the senate

and Alabama needs to find

some decent, intelligent

representatives and judiciary.

Next 4 years are going to be

rough sailing David. We'll

need your help to keep this

ship from wrecking on the

reef.

But see David French in today’s NYTs:

“By stepping down, as the conservative writer Erick Erickson observed, Wray has created a “legal obstacle to Trump trying to bypass the Senate confirmation process.”

Here’s why. According to the Vacancies Reform Act, if a vacancy occurs in a Senate-confirmed position, the president can temporarily replace that appointee (such as the F.B.I. director) only with a person who has already received Senate confirmation or with a person who’s served in a senior capacity in the agency (at the GS-15 pay scale) for at least 90 days in the year before the resignation.”

Just a thought! Wray should resign now and Biden appoint a director to a 10 year term.
