1. Re: WSJ article, disdain is not the same as hate. After all, we have Hate Crmes not Disdain Crimes. 2. Maybe, just maybe, if Trump wants to run for president and, in the process, ruin other people's lives with violent and false rhetoric, he shouldn't be going out in public. I object to my taxpayer dollars going towards protecting this evil man from danger, especially when he and his ilk care not one whit for protecting my beautiful granddaughter going to school, or my children going to concerts or my friend going to church. 3. See part 2 of number 2. 4. The only reason I care about the shooting is that unfortunately it has drawn attention away from the fact that Trump is failing, ever more, cognitively and morally. 5. in the Good Catch section, he also referred to the police and non-protesters as "the other side." 6. I had to Wiki the "Bourbon'" definition and guess what? The "Bourbons" didn't call themselves that. It was a critical term used by people that were against them. "During Reconstruction, the term "Bourbon" would have had the connotation of a retrogressive, reactionary dynasty out of step with the modern world." Does JD Vance even know that? or does he just think it sounds like an elegant term for racist?

Ditto. Hate was the word. He stokes violence every day, and then gets to play the victim. The whole mess is sickening.

As of this a.m., authorities in FL haven't laid specific charges against Ryan Routh, the alleged gunman at tRump's golf course, but he is slated for some extensive mental-health evaluations before any further legal proceedings.

And tRump yet again commands the news cycles.

Update: WaPo reports that Routh is charged with two firearms possession charges - that's it. Even WaPo is now referring to the rifle-in-the-bushes business as a "potential" assassination attempt..."potential".

Kimberly Atkins Stohr also commented on X that he said ‘nobody on the other side was killed’ on Jan 6th. As Lynn commented on Robert Hubbell’s Substack ‘he called the seat of our government the other side’. This is alarming that no one else has brought this up since.

“He used the pronoun ‘we’ to describe some of the rioters, grammatically placing himself among those who have been charged with storming into the Capitol.”

Let's add that to this gem from his Bedminster club in August:

"I think I am entitled to personal attacks. .... I don't have a lot of respect for her intelligence, and I think she'll be a terrible president."

Oh, she "WILL," will she??
